Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
This is the privacy policy of Vlogfied Marketing Management CO. L.L.C (“Vlogfied”, “we”, “us”). It covers the Vlogfied app and our website, vlogfied.com. It is written in plain words, so you can see what we know about you, why we need it, and how to stop it.
The short version
- We use your location only while the app is open, to show you places nearby. You can turn it off at any time.
- If you sign in, we keep your profile, the places you save and what you do in the app, so your lists and your feed follow you.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- When the app is installed and each time it opens, it tells Meta (Facebook), so we can see whether our adverts there work. This is explained below, with how to limit it.
- You can delete your account and your data yourself, in the app: open Settings and choose Delete account.
- Questions? Write to vlogfied@gmail.com and we will answer.
What we collect, and why
Your location
The app asks for your location once, the first time you open it. If you allow it, the app reads your phone’s location while the app is open and sends it to our servers, so we can show the places nearest to you and how far away they are. The app does not follow your location in the background.
If you say no, the app still needs a rough idea of where you are to show you anything useful. It then works out your region from your internet (IP) address, using an outside lookup service. You can also choose any place yourself in the app.
Your account
If you sign in, we keep:
- your name, email address and profile picture, as Google or Apple give them to us when you sign in with them, or as you enter them yourself;
- your phone number, if you add it;
- the interests and languages you pick, so your feed suits you;
- the places you save, the lists you make, the creators you follow, the offers you claim and the reviews you write.
Your lists are private unless you share them. A list you share can be opened by anyone who has its link. A review you write is public and shows your name.
We will not send you marketing messages on WhatsApp or by text unless you have told us you want them.
What you do in the app
We record which places and videos you open, what you save, and when you tap to call, message or get directions to a place, or view and claim an offer. Each record carries a random number that identifies your copy of the app, and your account if you are signed in. We use these records to make your feed more relevant, to count how often places and offers are seen, and to find out which parts of the app work well.
Your device
The app sends us technical details of your phone: its model, its operating system and language, and the version of the app. When the app crashes, a crash report is sent so we can fix the fault. We also receive general usage figures, such as how many people open the app.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, your phone is given an address (a “push token”) that lets us send them to you. You can switch notifications off in the app’s Settings or in your phone’s settings.
Photos
If you set a cover picture for a list, the app uploads the one picture you choose. It does not look at the rest of your photos.
On the website
You can use the website without signing in. Like every website, our server sees your internet address and the kind of browser you use when it sends you a page. Places you save on the home page are kept in your own browser and are not sent to us. We count visits with Google Analytics only if you agree when the site asks, and you can change your answer at any time with the “Analytics preferences” button.
When you play a video
Videos are played from where their creators posted them: YouTube, Instagram or Facebook. When you play one, that service receives your internet address and details of your device, as it would if you watched it there, and may set its own cookies.
Who else receives information
We do not sell your personal information. We pass on only what each of these services needs to do its job for us:
- Google (Firebase): crash reports, usage figures and the delivery of notifications; and your sign-in, if you use Google to sign in.
- Apple: your sign-in, if you use Apple to sign in, and the delivery of notifications on an iPhone.
- Meta (Facebook): the app tells Meta when it has been installed and each time it is opened. We use this to see whether our adverts on Facebook and Instagram bring people to the app. On Android this can include your phone’s advertising ID, which you can delete or reset in your phone’s privacy settings. On an iPhone it does not include that ID, because the app does not ask to track you.
- Mapbox and OpenStreetMap: the place names you type when you search for a location, and the coordinates we look up an address for.
- IP lookup services (ipapi.co and ipwho.is): your internet address, only when the app cannot use your location.
- YouTube, Instagram and Facebook: what is described above, when you play a video.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers our data is stored on.
We may also have to hand over information if a court or the law requires it. If Vlogfied is ever sold or merged with another company, your information would pass to the new owner, who would have to keep to this policy.
Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- Location. Turn it off in your phone’s settings whenever you like. The app keeps working, and you can pick a place by hand.
- Notifications. Switch them off in the app’s Settings or in your phone’s settings.
- Your account. You can sign out at any time. To delete your account, open Settings in the app and choose Delete account. Your profile and personal data are removed, and this cannot be undone.
- A copy or a correction. Write to us and we will send you the information we hold about you, or correct it. We reply within 30 days.
- Website analytics. Say no when the site asks, or change your mind later with the “Analytics preferences” button.
These choices are the same for everyone, whichever country you live in.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and what is in it until you delete it. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and personal data from our live systems, and the copies held in backups are overwritten as those backups are replaced. Figures that no longer identify anyone, such as how many times a place was viewed, may be kept.
How we protect it
Everything the app and the website send to us travels over an encrypted connection. Only the staff who need your information to run the service can reach it. No system can be made perfectly safe, so if something ever goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you.
Children
Vlogfied is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will change the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect or who receives it, we will tell you in the app.
